Robin Coxe

Robin Coxe

Dr. Coxe is the Founder and CEO of Close-Haul Communications. She has 10 years of experience in hardware systems engineering, the design of digital signal processing modules in field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), and embedded software development. Most recently, she held a senior design engineering position at Escape Communications, a provider of point-to-point microwave radios for cellular backhaul and SATCOM. Prior to Escape, as a product manager at Vanu, Inc., a software radio company, she focused on GSM femtocell technology. From 2001-2006, she was a Principal Research Scientist at Physical Sciences Inc., specializing in signal processing and reconfigurable computing for space and underwater sonar applications. Dr. Coxe did her graduate research in experimental elementary particle physics at CERN in Geneva. She received a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Chicago, an A.B. in Physics from Harvard University, and is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy.

Matt Leary

Mr. Leary has 13 years of experience in printed circuit board design, specializing in OrCad, PADs, and Allegro. Since 1996, he has been the Principal and Senior Designer at Newgrange Design, a PCB design services firm in Wakefield, MA. Mr. Leary earned a B.A. in Physics from the University of Wisconsin.

Dr. Coxe, Mr. Leary, and Tux the Penguin have worked together on the designs of numerous digital signal processing boards, most notably a reconfigurable multispectral image processor that is currently in Low-Earth Orbit.
